Soil Detriments

Have soapsuds or soapy water from washing clothes any value as fertilizer? The amount of material added in washing water will have very little effect on the nutrient content of the soil. Grease tends to clog the soil, and is objectionable. Naphtha is detrimental.

Is baking powder (double-action) of any use as a fertilizer? If so, how is it used? Under the usual soil conditions it has no fertilizer value, and it might even be detrimental.

Is castor oil good for soil around plants? No.
